Cranberry Ginger Cheesecake Cups
I took one of my favorite basic cookie recipes from long ago — my chewy chocolate chip
cranberry cookies —
as a base, and
made it denser, softer, chewier, and added more chocolate.
We didn't overthink it, but
made a fresh turkey, two kinds each of stuffing (oyster and sausage) and potatoes (mashed and au gratin), cumin carrots, green beans with bacon and onions, hot and spicy
cranberry sauce, gratinée of cauliflower from Silver Palate — often referred to
as «that cauliflower dish» — and a staple for 30 years on my Thanksgiving table, homemade crescent rolls straight out of Betty Crocker, and of course Helen's Cherry Pie:

I did
make some changes to it
as I thought the
cranberry mixture was too sweet.
I've always loved the orange -
cranberry flavor combination, and
as soon
as we received a bundt pan from our wedding registry I knew this was what I wanted to
make first.
I've
made something similar myself at home (Thanksgiving Burgers with
Cranberry Mayo), and this just
as good — instead of putting stuffing IN the burger itself, it topped the burger, and the mushroom gravy gave the stuffing the savory moistness it would've otherwise been missing.

as scones go, I consider these three Scone Perfection, Scones With Highest Honors, etc. and are the ones I more quickly would
make for other people: Dreamy Cream Scones, Meyer Lemon and Fresh
Cranberry Scones (though any lemon will do) and Apple Cheddar Scones.

Make sure you don't cook the
cranberries any longer than 15 minutes, or pectin will start to break down and the sauce will not set
