This man has
the makings of a good striker.

One
good striker up front and they would have
made goulash out
of us.
Its seems to me that both the club and it's fans are not serious.Anytime Arsenal sign a youngster from another team who is dubbed the next whatever people come out and say Arsenal have just signed a youngster who may or may not
make it and that Arsene should sign ready made. They say it to seem as if it's a bad thing. Now that Chris Willock is leaving I'm anticipating that a lot
of people are soon going to be blaming the same Wenger who actually likes bringing in youngsters.Anyway you have to look at the reasons he lfet. It's for game time and to him he thinks its a
good choice. The bright side is that he's not Arsenal's most talented player. The likes
of Donyell Malen, Yassin Fortune, Reiss Nelson in my eyes have more potential as wingers.I also think Arsenal should be very excited about Eddie Nketiah and Stephy Mavididi. They can be world class
strikers in the future particularly Eddie.
Having said that, Henry doesn't
striker me as a great coach or manager in the
making and he is probably
better of as a TV pundit.
Nothing you could ever do to Giroud would ever
make him come
good just nothing. Its not a formation set up that gets a player to dribble, score, be world class, be dependable, wow the crowd and the like. Its the players» own ability that
makes him do that.Once you don't have it ya ain't gat it brother.Read my lips!!!!! Once ya don't have it ya ain't gat it.As simple as ABC.So I expect this to be another de ja vu case and waste
of time if Giroud and Alexis are paired.I'm even shocked it's coming from Henry. He should rather be giving us more reasons why we need a new
striker and why we would fail if we don't get the new
striker.Forget Giroud's stats for a moment and judge him by how he plays when you are watching him.You would realize that given the same chances at Arsenal
strikers who are not even world class can do better.I want a new
striker even if not world class and to be honest its not necessarily a world class
striker that wins you a league but just increases the chances
of winning it.Peace!!!!
goodness i can't believe it people will still defend him.You know something when Giroud misses many chances like at Monaco i did not criticize him even based on that you know why?its because he has always not been clinical. The only way a team can improve is by indentifying its problems and solving them.Arsenal has Giroud as the main cf and Welbeck as backup to him.Giroud has done
well scoring some goals some too important but collectively he does more harm than
good.Do not use moments to judge a player judge him based on content.Giroud does not excel in many games than he excels in games. As a main cf you need to be consistent.I see people here saying Giroud can not dribble he cant do this he cant do that but its a bit crazy to criticize him for that because every player has his own style.Giroud limitations as a player costs arsenal and will cost us a lot. Most importantly his poor finishing which has cost us several times. Not
good enough.His style
of play is ok for us but a
striker who can take on players and run behind defences very
well would
make us very strong and also should be clinical. For Welbeck he needs to works on his finishing and composure by doing the basic things right. He rushes infront
of goal too much. For now he is just above average. However he can excel if he works on improving.Giroud and Welbeck will always be a pain in arsenal's neck for most part. Some will call me stupid but hey at least i want to analyze the problem.People may support Giroud or Welbeck to lead the line next season but as the saying goes if you fool me once shame on you but if you fool me twice shame on me.Will you let Giroud and Welbeck fool you again?
«Wenger is giving the
striker the self confidence and belief that should help him to start banging more goals in himself» i highly doubt that
makes one a goal scorer... otherwise why bring about this question after welbeck has been involved in two goals??? To me walcot is a
better option because
of his finishing, smart runs, game reading, delivering during big games,
good final touch and
making it easier for the right back since he keeps defenders in deep in their half therefore, no need for him to be defensive.
Aaron Ramsey certainly hopes and thinks so, and the Welshman also reckons that the return
of our big French
striker to the squad will play a big part in
making sure that the three
good performances against Man United, Borussia Dortmund and West Brom is not another false start, as an Arsenal.com report explains.
Jansenn and Milik
make Good sense to me, I would be happy with having these two young
strikers at Arsenal, since it is obvious that wenger won't be buying the likes
of Aubameyang, Lewandowski or Lukaku.
As Alan Smith recognises, Lucas has the ability to drift in and out amongst the defenders and the Spaniard's flexibility to also play on the wing, means that he has a very
good idea about what kind
of runs the wingers will want the
striker to
make.
Another reason to start with the big Frenchman is to
make the most
of the confidence our
striker will have gained with his performance and
well taken goal for France last week.
Yes he could be alot
better at finishing, but let's see, maybe we got a new sturridge... What I am mad on Wenger about is not so much the lack
of a proven
striker to our ranks... No it's that we haven't bought a central defender to cover, but most important, we haven't bought a defensive midfielder, that we need so much!!? Wenger
makes the same mistakes over and over, everybody else can see it, just not him... hmm: / but still lets respect him as a man and judge when we are atleast half way into the season... COYG!!!!
The PSG team also
makes him look like an amazing
striker because he get fed a lot
of great scoring opportunities, tbh even an average strike could look as
good as he does for PSG.
So, Arsene Wenger, who has been totally ignoring all links with some
of the
best strikers in the world, suddenly
made a last minute bid for a player that Juventus bought for 18m euros just two months ago, and who last played for the Serie A minnows Sassuolo.
Even at a young age you could tell he his talent was special but Morata so far has shown nothing to
make me believe hes gonna be one
of the
best strikers in the world.
mahrez is a
good player do nt get me wrong but what we need is a
striker not winger if we get mahrez we still need a
striker who can take responsibility in the event
of OG 12 not being there for one reason or the other MR wenger takes for ever he cant
make his mind up he is constrained already you want him to get two players?
It's difficult to blame Ozil for the difficulties he's faced at Arsenal without looking at the big picture... like the fans, he too was lied to by Wenger... there is no doubt in my mind that he was told by Wenger that he was trying desperately to recreate our earlier success by acquiring players that fit the system he ran when Henry was in his prime... as we know this hasn't happened... in order for Ozl to flourish he needs some speed up front, forwards that can
make intelligent runs, a boss in the midfield to compensate for his obvious defensive liabilities and defenders who can transition from defence to offence quickly and efficiently... much like he had in Real and with the German National squad... unfortunately he ended up on a squad that has a
striker who plays with his back to goal, very few intelligent runs into the box, minus Sanchez, no one to take pressure off him in the midfield, once Cazorla was injured, average defensive midfielders around him, which simply highlighted his lacking defensive qualities and defenders who lack the necessary cutting edge when it comes to transitional passing... instead
of blaming Ozil, which is simply too easy, especially considering his mopey disposition, we should be asking ownership and / or Wenger why they brought him in if they didn't intend on doing what was necessary to get the
best from him... can you imagine Ozil playing with the likes
of Henry, Viera, Petit and Pires, it would be incredibly to watch and even more difficult to stop... so the only thing different between his experiences in Real and with the German team versus his time at Arsenal are the players around him and we all know who is in charge
of making those decisions, the Grinch who stole soccer
@chaitanya, exactly walcott sure knows how to time his runs.even against chelsea he was doing that well.reason ppl say walcott ai nt a
good striker is bcos
of wenger.wenger
makes him play as
striker once in a bluemoon, and in such scenario u cant learn the trade.only when hes played consistently he grows as a
striker.
The team lacks confidence now, everyone is jittery and so prone to mistakes...
strikers missing chances they will put away with their eyes close, defenders trying too hard not to
make mistakes and then end up doing just that, the midfield does it
best impression
of «who can have moat possessions and do eff all with it», the manager is confused, jaded and out
of ideas....
And it is a transfer that we know that Wenger wanted to
make because his offer
of # 40 million and a pound to Liverpool for their
striker Luis Suarez back in 2013 was
well publicised as
well as being highly ridiculed by the scousers and the football media both.
I would not go for the big name
strikers, i like the columbian Ibarbo, a lot
of pace and very
good with his feet, but believe it or not MY choice would be Welbeck he loves
making runs behind the defense with his pace, a hard worker and would fit arsenal to the TEE.
With reports that Arsenal are
making progress on a # 50m deal to sign Paris Saint - Germain
striker Edinson Cavani, CaughtOffside looks at five other possible targets upfront who'd
make better signings, or at least
better in terms
of value for money than the expensive Uruguayan...
«In most
of the games we had 70 percent possession, but that
makes it difficult for the
strikers because there is less room and less freedom as
well as most
of the time people play with central defenders.
I like Giroud, his stats are
good and comparable to vardy and kane but there is something missing, perhaps it is
making a goal out
of nothing, but I can not se us winning the league with giroud as our main
striker.
guy couldnt pass the ball wright, can not shot, not just he missing chances but he miss the ball all the time, slowing the tempo, no pace no speed old story, on one on one no way he can pass the player, dribble like my grandma... and you tell me how the guy with this attributes can be no. 1
striker and play in the
best league in the world and probably one
of the
best clubs in the world... as long as i am alive i would ask myself how giroud stray in arsenal and be no. 1
striker... even my little cousin
make a jokes about him, its obvious like a day... guy is laughingstock!!!
Lets spend this money and get some
good STRIKERS; Balotelli, Cavani etc, and come less
of this young shall grow and when they grow they
make a switch... So SAD our brought ups are leaving us for our Rivals.
as for the summer i think one world class player in an attacking pos my be
striker, i think we could see a big bid for draxler sometime in the next year, (maybe in this window if we get lucky could be a big surprise at the end
of the week would
make the window awesome) as wenger rates him top top top class talent, and thinks he could
make him into the worlds next
best striker maybe try and get him for # 30 million instead.
We finally have a solid
striker (even if he will take some adaptation time I think he'll be true class) in Lacazette, we have solid center backs (once they are all healthy) much
better than in recent seasons, Giroud is our killer weapon off the bench rather than the key we are relying on as the main source
of goals, Coquelin and Elneny are now midfield fall - back options rather than Flamini (no offense Mathieu, I appreciated your efforts, just
making the obvious comparison), two high quality keepers, etc..
I intrigued by the prospect
of this formation, except I'll swap Ramsey for Wilshere......... we get to play two brilliant
strikers as
well as two brilliant playmakers, that could be devastating for any opposition...... and I feel Kolasinac would
make a decent DM
We still really need a top - top
striker to
make the
best of this (Giroud not
good enough, Wellbeck not enough goals, Sanchez leaving?)
This Lacazatte if he ever comes to Arsenal which I strongly doubted because Wenger already
made his max number
of purchasing, is going to be another Giroud with
better CHANCE vs GOAL ration, but not a world class
striker in the world.
Best possible result for arsenal today # unconvincing performance from Walcott against quality opposition # no thrashing
of Chelsea to
make them strengthen in the window # mourinho hoodoo over against arsenal # wenger clearly wants a
striker because giroud hasn't played much in preseason and didn't start.
But, he should have had another 2 before he scored, I think we need to be patient with Theo, people attack him for not
making the correct runs or lacking the instinct
of a
striker, but for this he simply needs time, games is how he will learn this, I would think he is getting
good advice from AW and perhaps our new U18s Attacking coach The King can give him some tips.
can we move on from the employment
of the tight one,
well unless you count the very average japanese
striker who will
make money for the owners.
Up front we have a few world - class players surrounded by some serious pretenders... Sanchez is by far the most accomplished player in our attack but the controversy surrounding his contractual mishandling could see him go before the window closes or most definitely by season's end... obviously a mistake by both parties involved, as Sanchez's exploits have never been more on display than in North London, but the club's irresponsible wage structure and lack
of real intent have been the real undoing in this mess... Lacazette, who I think has some world - class skills as a front man, will only be as
good as the players and system around him, which is troubling due to our current roster and Wenger's love
of sideways passing... Walcott should have been sold years ago, enough said, and Welbeck should never have been brought in from the get - go... both
of these players have suffered numerous injuries over their respective careers and neither are
good enough to overcome such difficulties: not to mention, they both are below average first - touch players, which should be the baseline test for any player coming to a Wenger - led Arsenal team... Perez should have been played wide left or never purchased at all; what a huge waste
of time and money, which is ridiculous considering our penny pinching ways and the fact that fans had been clamoring for a real
striker for years... finally Giroud, the fact that he stills wears the jersey is a direct indictment
of this club's failure to get things right... this isn't necessarily an attack on Giroud because I think he has some highly valued skills, but not for a team that has struggled to take their sideways soccer to the next level, as his presence slows their game even more, combined with our average, at
best, finishing skills... far too often those in charge have either settled or chosen half - measures and ultimately it is us that suffer because no matter what happens Wenger, Gazidis and Kroenke will always
make more money whereas we will always be the ones paying for their mistakes... so every time someone suggests we should just shut - up and support the team just think
of all the sacrifices you've
made along the way and simply reply... f *** off
Walcotts one
good season doesn't
make him anymore
of a world class
striker than Danny ings... He isn't in my books and doesn't possess the necessary qualities to become one....
Chelsea's only
good signing is Fabregas, Diego Costa I think is overrated and a bit hot or cold from what I've seen, Costa could quite possibly flop, in my opinion, he's not the definition
of a «World Class
Striker» and as for Fellipe Luis, I haven't watched enough
of him to
make a judgement however if we bring in one more marquee signing then I'll be convinced that we've had the
best transfer window out
of any other club in the Premier League.
Martial's ex Samantha has not reacted
well to being replaced by the French beauty,
making an online rant in which she accused Cruz
of taking the Man United
striker away from her and called her a prostitute.
... he played there against crystal palace, Everton 2 season ago and it was a disaster... our build up is majorly done closer to d centre circle than d oppositions box... that's y girouds hold up play is vital... either we go with dat path or we look for a
striker who is lightning quick (so when we
make d final pass, it doesn't get wasted), uses both legs to shoot on sight, with
good accuracy... playing Sanchez, who is not very
good with his back to goal as a 9 is useless and though fast, holds on to d ball a lot tryn to get d
best angle to shoot... we need a
striker who is very intelligent with d timing
of his runs... too bad Walcott is as intelligent as a sheep, cld have been d perfect cf...
ARSENE WENGER: Hi Auba, you are one
of the
best strikers in the world right now, and we have the world
best goal provider in the world in Ozil, come let me
make you King Henry or even more, I see that in you, you are our missing puzzle, with you in the team we will definitely win a league and Champions league double in no time.
lets all thank arsene for finally doing the right thing only time will tell but have we finally signed the DM we need STRONG MINDED NO HOLD BAR MIDFIELDER WE HAVE ALL CRAVED, but lets take it back we all know it will take 2 or 3 more like minded players to
make us great again, he has tricked us all buy buying one superstar in the last 3 windows ALEXIS, OZIL and CHEC great players but can't do it all on their own, spending huge amount
of money and saying we can buy the
best players, on the surface this looks great we are buying top top players big prices but instead
of spending his usual 50 mill on 2, 3, 4, 0r 5 players he has pulled the wool over are eyes with 1 superstar thinking the fans are that dumb enough to believe it, infact he has never spent his budget only balanced on sales too purchases, i love arsenal but this summer i hope for more he needs to do that consistently through out the team spend the same amount on the team stop balancing the american owners, grow a pair say yes we will buy a top defender and a world class
striker, stan we love arsenal please be one
of us do whats needed then you will fell proud as we are and we will adore you for it.
Top Notch
strikers ARE a rarity now, far more than they were in the golden days
of Thierry Henry ET AL. however they DO still exist albeit in a much rarer form, and this
makes them more expensive that Arsenal and more specifically the fans
of Arsenal are used to spending, we discuss if this one is worth that or if that one is worth this,
well, why are we concerned whith what the club spends on a
striker and if they are worth it ect??
Does it
make sense to anyone to move your
best striker, Sanchez, to his weakest position
of left wing?
I think it goes back to the van persie deal where Wenger sold a ready
made cloth perfect for a goalscoring situation went to United and arsenal at that juncture did not need a top quality
striker but moving into 2015 arsenal definitely need a
striker but Wenger wants somebody who can do it and be relied upon till the whole team gets motivated and gets
good patch
of form themselves
What you said is very true.Ozil
makes our
strikers look half decent. In fact we expect average players to look
better when they are surrounded with world class players. He's definitely not been consistent but to get the
best out
of him he needs players who can finish or else he's useless. It's
good Wenger has brought in Lacazette who's actually the only
good finisher out
of our three
strikers.
when u have one
of the
best strikers of the moment for 50 million euros plus your
striker that does nt even
make the tally
of 20 goals a season in the league, you take it
we have a lamppost as our
striker, Lacazette was all in our minds and everyday news, an unknown Perez pops up and we are covered, Mustafi is a
good buy but the lack
of steel infront
of them
makes so vulnerable.
Look gentlemen this WAS an extremely
well written and
well researched article and has to rank as one
of the
best Ive read in many a long year, Howvever when all
of the «in depth analysis» has been done it really boils down to two points and two points only, 1) Our
strikers (namely Walcott, Giroud, Welbeck and Cambel) just did nt score enough goals when it really mattered, 2) our defence
made too many mistakes that allowed too many goals to be scored against us when it mattered.
For teams like Manchester United and Tottenham, this pattern
of football has worked for them, probably because they have mastered the art
of making it work or they have a
striker who fits perfectly
well!
The 24 - year - old has struggled to reach the heights
of top - flight football, having formerly played Conference football with Wrexham as
well as in League One with Crewe Alexandra, yet the
striker has
made his international debut with Guinea.
