flesh then he had to be incarnate as a certain individual

While, at times, he talked as a Greek
in setting
flesh and spirit
in sharp opposition, he always was thinking as a Jew; he was contrasting, not material
flesh and immaterial spirit, but the natural
man uninspired by the divine Spirit, on one side, and the spiritual
man transformed by God's grace, on the other.
The dis - ease of modern
man's psyche is more of a vacuum than a thorn
in the

He, we believe, is the eternal Logos who became
flesh in order to reconcile
man to God and reveal the underlying reason of all things.
If a
man trusts
in his own
flesh to fulfil God's law he will fail because of his wicked heart so we must trust
in the Lord.
The word for
flesh there is basar, which is the most common euphemism
in Scripture for the «meat» of a
man.

In the case of Matthew 22:24 - 28, the
man can be one
flesh with his wife, and one
flesh with his deceased brother's wife.
So
in Man matter is raised into the supernatural realm of relationship with God through the Word made
flesh.
Rightly understood,
man cleaves to his wife not because she is «
flesh of his
flesh,» nor because she is beautiful or because she loves him back, but because she is his chosen, willing, and coequal lifelong partner
in self - conscious devotion to the work of perpetuation.
(I Corinthians 10:16 - 21) Was this the meaning of the Fourth Gospel also when it put on the lips of Jesus words of high sacramental import — «Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the
flesh of the Son of
man and drink his blood, ye have not life
in yourselves.
Circumcision emphasizes, even as it also restricts and transcends, the natural and the generative, sanctifying them
in the process: Under God's command,
men willingly produce
in their living and generational
flesh the mark of their longing for God, of their desire for His benevolence and care.
Then remember,
in the first creation of
man, it was Adam, and Eve, not of the same kind, or gender, but no one can even begin to judge another if they are of
flesh, and blood, other than the Almighty Creator YHWH.
Jesus became
man (God manifest
in the
flesh) at a point
in time and His death on the cross and His resurrection occurred at a point
in time.
