The governing body of a county or municipality may require
mandatory court appearances for certain aggravated violations of a local ordinance resulting in the unprovoked biting, attacking, or wounding of a domestic animal; violations resulting in the destruction or loss of personal property; second or subsequent violations of local animal cruelty laws; or violations resulting in the issuance of a third or subsequent
citation to a person.
The
citation must clearly inform the person of the
mandatory court appearance.
If you simply prefer to pay your
citation and not go to
Court and your case is not considered a «
mandatory appearance», you can pay online, by phone or on - site at the Traffic Division Office without having to appear in the courtroom.
If your
citation involves a
mandatory appearance you must appear in
Court.
Your
citation is for a moving violation and does not carry a misdemeanor charge or require a
mandatory court appearance.
The
citation is for less than two moving violations which do not require
mandatory court appearance.

If you receive a civil traffic
citation that doesn't require a
mandatory court appearance, you must choose from one of the following options to handle your violation:
Unless your ticket specifically says «
Mandatory Appearance,» you are allowed to pay your
citation fine before the deadline without going to
court.
If you have been issued a moving traffic
citation that doesn't require a
mandatory court appearance, you may be qualified to attend a defensive driving course to prevent points from being assessed against your license.
Requesting TN traffic
citation details will require you to provide personal information such as: the
citation number, the amount of traffic fine, the
mandatory court appearance date or the due date written on your ticket.
Unless a
mandatory court appearance is indicated on your TN traffic
citation, you can pay the ticket fine any time before the due date.
As long as «
Mandatory Appearance» is NOT indicated on your traffic
citation, you may pay the WI traffic ticket fine prior to the due date without appearing in
court.
If you hold a commercial driver's license or received a
citation that requires a
mandatory court appearance, you are not eligible.
This election is for moving traffic
citations not requiring a
mandatory court appearance (i.e. speeding in excess of 30 MPH).
