Any way, I wanted to ask you, for this
recipe and the others where you use
maple syrup, can I replace it with agave
syrup?
However, we do miss the occasional sweet treat and I notice you use honey, date
syrup, and
maple syrup in some of your
recipes.

maple syrup in it which makes the squares really sweet, hope you love it x
I've read a lot about agave recently and am learning about the negative aspects of it, which is why all my recent
recipes (including this one) have
maple syrup in.
I've just checked with the notes on this
recipe and we actually tried it with
maple first and it didn't work that well, but honey did work so if you don't have rice
syrup we'd recommend that instead x
I took the agave out of the
recipe to use
maple syrup instead so don't worry about it here!

maple syrup with brown rice

Yes you can absolutely substitute
maple syrup for honey in all
recipes, if anything the consistency will be creamier and the taste will be basically exactly the same!
But am unsure what exact ingredients to get for other
recipes as I have been shopping around but not having any luck finding the right
maple syrup, vanilla or cacao powder and date
syrup... what type of
maple syrup shall I buy (is organic ok to use?).

recipes Ella I made the Raw Brownies to take too work but ended up keeping them for myself, the first time I added the
Maple Syrup but the next time I make them I am going to try them without.
Hi Sarah, I prefer using
maple syrup to agave as I find it doesn't spike my blood sugar so much but in terms of making a difference to the
recipes, using agave would be absolutely fine!

Hi Ella (or anyone that has made these before...) I can't have any sugar at all, I can just about tolerate the medjool dates but the
maple syrup is definitely a no go... if I leave that out of the brownie
recipe will it be a disaster?!

Hi Laura, Sorry that was a typo — I ended up halfing the
recipe as it made so much and forgot to adjust the
maple syrup quantity.
And then I tried a raw version inspired by your
recipe (I soaked the buckwheat groats together with dried blueberries, whizzed it in a food processor the next morning and topped it with a drizzle of peanut butter,
maple syrup, hemp seeds and a sprinkle of sea salt) and it was divine!
I couldn't find sunflower seeds, so just went with the
recipe as posted (substituted some of more expensive ingredients — honey for
maple syrup, different type of date), but will use suggestion of upping oats next time to see how it goes.
I have just cooked the blueberry muffins as you say they are like a liquid batter but they haven't turned into muffins they are just blueberry slop in bottom of muffin tins.I don't see how these can turn into muffins when they are just pure liquid and there is nothing in the
recipe to bind them together.The only different ingredient I used was rice milk as didn't have almond milk and actually put less
maple syrup in as didn't have full amount so the
recipe should have been even runnier.Am feeling a bit frustrated as the ingredients aren't cheap.

I didn't use dates... as mentioned all was the same in your
recipe except the
maple syrup and peanut butter.
If anyone has trouble processing the dates and sweet potatoes (my friend had this issue, couldn't get a smooth consistency at all), or if you wanted to make these but forgot to buy dates (happened to me)-- 1/2 cup liquid sweetener works great in place of the dates and
maple syrup in this
recipe.

recipes, but have been hesitant to make some of them because of the high calorie content of some of the ingredients, for example, dates,
maple syrup etc..
I removed it from the
recipe and opted for just
maple syrup.
Also, don't experiment with liquid sweeteners, such as
maple syrup or honey, because their consistency just doesn't work in this
recipe.
