We used clear
mason jars at my daughter's wedding.
I purchased large
mason jars at Hobby Lobby, so we had to use a 1X6 for the base and for the sides we used 1X4's.

While I gave moms who wanted plastic options they needed I scoured the net for stainless steel cups and I bought up small
mason jars at thrift stores for my own kids.
I served mine with organic pickled beets... (keep beets in the fridge in
mason jars at all times in case you get really hungry and you want something right now, but keeps you on track with eating heathly and low calorie) adding only 50 calories for 1/2 cup.
