The Texas 10 Step Program is a Department of State Health Services (DSHS) initiative, in collaboration with the Texas Hospital Association, to improve
maternity care services in birthing facilities.
Mother - Friendly Nurse Recognition is a personal and public recognition of nurses that
provide maternity care services in a manner consistent with the Principles and Ten Steps of the Mother - Friendly Childbirth Initiative (MFCI).
This initiative will test three evidence -
based maternity care service approaches that enhance the current care delivery, and address the medical, behavioral and psychosocial factors that may be present during pregnancy and contribute to preterm - related poor birth outcomes.
Standards define a minimum level of care that every pregnant person can expect to receive when using
the maternity care services in Ireland, and provided such standards can be audited they will enable improved care.
The Mother - Friendly Childbirth Initiative (MFCI) is the nation's first and only consensus document which defines the ten specific steps
a maternity care service or birthing facility can take to provide evidence - based, mother - and baby - centered maternity care.
Medicaid programs may scale back coverage of
maternity care services (e.g., limiting the number of covered prenatal visits) and family planning services (e.g., refusing to cover IUDs and implants).
