I have this awful habit of wearing really inappropriate footwear for the weather / occasion (I don't really enjoy wearing
boots, so would usually rather have chilly feet and wear little ballet
flats or shoes than anything sensible), so am hoping that
maybe a couple of decent pairs of trainers will bridge the gap!
But you don't want to feel like you lack shoes either — I usually take one pair of classic black patent heels (
maybe a second pair if I am going somewhere dressy like New York or Paris), a pair of ballet
flats, ankle
boots, a pair of comfortable shoes like converse or plimsols and a pair of gladiator sandals.
Also,
flat or 1 1/2 inch heeled
boots, while
maybe not as cute, are far superior for walking around in a city.
Maybe try fleece - lined tights with knee or calf - high
flat boots paired with A-lined skirts and your favorite blouses tucked in.
I chose a pair of
flat + tough ankle
boots, but a sandal with a chunky heel (and
maybe a platform) would also work really well with this.
To transition it to spring, you can eliminate the scarf, swap the riding
boots for some
flats or loafers, and
maybe go with a pastel or bright skirt instead of black (although I wear black all year).
I'm sure you have a pair of pointed toe heels to complete it, or
flat riding
boots maybe?
