Yesterday, for the first time, I made a more complex
meal in my rice cooker, a Caribbean rice and beans stir that was nothing short but amazing.
Not exact matches
It can be eaten raw with a
meal, boiled
in a pot of soup (taking care that the pepper does not burst and removing it carefully before serving),
cooked in rice and peas or used to make seasonings for meat, including jerk.
I chose to use wild
rice in this
meal plan, but you are of course welcome to
cook a pot of whichever kind of
rice you like or have on hand.
White
rice is easy enough to add to a one -
meal concoction, but try throwing brown
rice or barley
in there and you are often left with
rice that hasn't
cooked thoroughly or a piece of meat that is so overcooked it ruins the happy vibe of the one - pot
meal.

meal that is true to Thai flavor, but
in a much simpler and faster
cooking time.
I like Melissa's suggestion to double the dressing and add
rice noodles... I will try that next... I also think
cooked tofu, fish or chicken would be great
in here, and would turn this into a complete
meal.
Try bulking up your breakfast with Cauliflower
Rice (
cook it 2 ways) or use left - over 15 Minute Carne Asada to add other Mexican flavored foods
in your
meal.
Every time, I have left over
cooked rice in my fridge, stir fry is the
meal next day.
To make a great
meal in a bowl, just have a base of
cooked quinoa, brown
rice, farro, or bulgur.
We slept on hammocks beneath the stars and
cooked meals out of canned chicken and instant
rice in a galley that makes my small kitchen huge by comparison.
For instance, when you find yourself with some time to spare over the weekend (or while you are
in the kitchen already
cooking up something else), go ahead and
cook up some brown
rice to put
in the fridge ready to go for another

It was super easy to toss the ingredients

rice cooker and let it
cook away while we prepped the rest of the
meal (Panko Crusted Tilapia and Curried Okra and Tomatoes).

As with any fried
rice recipe, the results are best if the
rice is
cooked at least a day
in advance, which is a win for your
meal prepping.
By the way,
rice cooked in coconut milk Darryl mentioned was my first solid - food
meal — it is every baby's.
To create a balanced
meal and keep your weight
in check, serve fish or chicken with fresh or
cooked veggies and a modest portion of — preferably brown — basmati
rice or whole - wheat bread.
Cooking things like spelt, quinoa or
rice ahead of time and keeping them
in the fridge ready for when you need to put together a
meal in a hurry is a great idea.
And since what is really important is what we eat
