What do
they mean by faith?
I am not speaking here of what church people usually
mean by faith; I am referring to the history of philosophical concepts and language.
But is it really true that in the last resort the New Testament
means by faith the natural disposition of man?
But Buber believes that Paul
means by faith belief in a truth, a kind of objective knowledge, whereas surely for Paul faith in Christ is never separated from love to all the members of the body of Christ and to every man.
To understand that, humanly, it is his own destruction, and then nevertheless to believe in the possibility, is what is

Every person of every
faith can make the same argument, and
by that logic, it
means EVERY god that has ever been posited should be accepted because there is no evidence to the contrary.

means that we do best not to defend doctrines as abstract truths but rather to testify to others
by telling the story of our own
