«We had the idea for this
study more than seven years ago, but it took the laboratory three months to finish quantifying telomere length for just 100 samples, which was not enough to draw any
meaningful conclusions,» said Yuan, also a professor of
epidemiology at Pitt's Graduate School of Public Health.
«It's not really
meaningful to say that saturated fats are good or bad,» said Frank Hu, a professor of nutrition and
epidemiology at the Harvard School of Public Health, who wasn't involved in the new
study.
