The only real and
measurable model of our climate happens to be the real one that we all live in.

[emphasis added] Bast: «We believe that
climate has warmed in the second half
of the 20th Century, we believe that there is probably a
measurable human impact on
climate but it's probably very small, we think that natural forces probably overwhelm any impact that human activity can have, that computer
models are too unreliable to forecast what the future might hold for
climate and finally that a modest amount
of warming is probably going to be, on net, beneficial both to human beings and the ecosystem.
Here's my uneducated question — while I respect Gavin's comments about not abusing the science, it seems to me that many
measurable indicators
of climate change are (to the extent I can tell) occurring / progressing / worsening faster than predicted by most
models, whether we're talking about atmospheric CO2 levels, arctic ice melting, glacial retreat, etc..
Regardless
of one's views on the accuracy
of climate models and social - cost -
of - carbon estimates, the CES will have no
measurable impact on world
climate.
If you ACTUALLY BELIEVE that it is «virtually certain» that human activities, primarily the increase in CO2 concentrations, is altering the
climate in a
measurable way, then there's no other conclusion possible: you are a scientifically illiterate moron, with absolutely no concept
of how even the simplest
model of a planetary atmosphere works.
