ARLINGTON HEIGHTS — The Arlington Heights Park
District is testing the water to see
whether the community will back a tax - referendum
measure next spring to repair aging swimming pools and other outdated facilities.

measure asking voters to pay for the last 12 - acre parcel of the Dole estate and its 150 - year - old Italianate house has some residents questioning
whether the Crystal Lake Park
District belongs in the historic preservation business.

This could be a big change, depending on the weights given to income and property wealth and depending on
whether «family income» for the
district as a whole is used or «student poverty» is the
measure.
While I think it's time for other
districts and the Colorado Department of Education to learn from Denver's work, we need to have a series of discussions about how to have more school performance data provided to families and how /
whether this information is rolled up into a single
measure of «school quality.»
