brightness (luminance) and its darkest black luminance, one of the more important
measures of LCD performance quality.
All of these Flagship Tablets have fairly bright displays, with the Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 the brightest full size Tablet that we have
measured so far in this Shoot - Out series, with an impressive
Peak Brightness of 527 cd / m2 (sometimes called nits).
We
measured a very high
Peak Brightness of 602 cd / m2 (nits), the Highest
Peak Brightness that we have
measured for a Smartphone for all Average Picture Levels APL, including Full Screen White.
Regarding
peak brightness, which we
measured in each set's Vivid mode, the E7 (446.5 nits) didn't fare as well as the Sony (684 nits); neither came anywhere near the Samsung's 1008 nits.
