A variety of state - funded pre-K programs generally produce broad gains in participating children's learning, as
measured at kindergarten entry, according to NIEER's study published this week in AERA Open.
They also exhibited poorer performance on early literacy, social, and behavioral
measures both
at entry into Head Start and
at the end of
kindergarten compared with children not in each of those subgroups.
