We compare correlations by ranked fifth (quintile) of VIX at the end of the past return measurement interval to determine (in - sample) optimal time series momentum
measurement intervals for different ranges of VIX.

The past return
interval for momentum
measurement is four weeks, augmented by a one - week delay in portfolio formation to avoid short - term reversal.
For initial strategy tests, they consider past return
measurement (lookback) and holding
intervals of 1, 3, 6, 9, 12, 24, 36 or 48 months.
For an illiquid asset class such as art, many individual assets do not trade within commonly used return
measurement intervals (such as a year).
All
measurement is not
measurement of lengths on a straight line; there is a second most important
measurement of
intervals, independent of such
measurement of lengths, the estimation of angles, or, what comes to the same thing, of ratios and arcs of circles to the whole circumference, In point of fact, it is by angular
measurement that we habitually estimate temporal
intervals, whenever we appeal to a watch or clock, and in the prehistoric past the first rough estimates of
intervals within the natural day must presumably» have been made, independently of
measurement of lengths, by this same method, with the sky
for clock - face.
The estimate
for the effect of fluoxetine was an average deficit of 392 g (95 % confidence
interval: − 5 g, − 780 g) in postnatal weight in a model containing the breastfeeding medication group, gender, birth weight, and age of the infant at the time of
measurement (Table 2).
Swapping the ease of a single number
for the apparently clumsier
interval of numbers has been controversial among some chemists, but additional precision in
measurements in recent years has shown the change is necessary
for accuracy.
Intensity as recorded in zebrafish (crosshairs in Fig. 4a show where
measurement took place) at an excitation wavelength of 633 nm and scanned
for emission at 11 nm
intervals from 654 nm to 794 nm.
Measurements were made before the second meal (basal
measurement), immediately after ingestion (t0
measurement), at 30 - min
intervals for the first 2 h, and at 1 - h
intervals thereafter.
They focus on a past performance
interval of three years because: institutional consultants cite this
measurement as one of the most important criterion
for fund selection; and, Morningstar's rating algorithm emphasizes three - year past performance.
The
interval between last vaccination and antibody
measurement was between 1 and 2 years
for the majority of dogs (281/468; 60.0 %) and between 2 and 7 years
for 142 of 468 (30.3 %) dogs.
Carbon dioxide
measurements on Dome C ice, focusing on the
interval 390 to 650 kyr before present, bp (2,700 — 3,060 m) 4, confirmed the strong coupling between CO2 and Antarctic temperature found1 in the Vostok ice core
for the past 420 kyr.
The truth is that (
for the synthetic example) the only thing you know from the
measurement is that you have equal relative likelihood of occurrence of each date along the length of the flat
interval.
An error - free laboratory
measurement of modern fraction does not imply that the problem collapses into a deterministic look - up from the calibration curve — even if the curve is monotonic over the relevant calendar
interval — because the curve itself carries uncertainty in the form of the variance related to the conditional probability of RC age
for a given calendar date.
If, from the sample
measurement, a flat calendar date
interval appears in the set of possible calendar dates, the posterior CDF
for the uniform prior will show a straight line segment over that
interval; the CDF using Jeffrey's prior will show a flat segment over the same
interval.
Confidence
interval (CI): the CI quantifies the uncertainty in
measurement; usually reported as 95 % CI, which is the range of values within which we can be 95 % sure that the true value
for the whole population lies.
For simplicity, pathways for the covariates, stability pathways between baseline and 24 - month follow - up evaluations, and extra lagged paths from the repeated measurements of R - rated movie restrictions and sensation seeking with respect to smoking initiation at later time intervals are not display

Excellent internal consistency and
measurement consistency over a one week
interval were obtained
for all scales (Cronbach's alpha; 0.87, 83, and 83, and ICC (2, 1); 0.84, 0.94, and 0.89
for depression, anxiety and stress scales, respectively).
