Monitoring immune responses by
measuring cytokine levels has become an integral part of disease - related research, providing clues to the state of the immune system and how it could be targeted therapeutically.

measured levels of C - reactive protein (CRP), which our bodies make in response to high
levels of
cytokines.
Although it has been suggested that resveratrol has anti-inflammatory properties, in this study resveratrol did not suppress autoimmune responses as
measured by
levels of MOG35 -55-specific lymphoproliferative responses and pro-inflammatory
cytokine production.
Garle and his colleagues have designed a test that
measures levels of a chemical to show the «sum effect» of all the
cytokines produced by the skin cells.
Michael Garle, the project's supervisor, says that several research teams have tried
measuring levels of
cytokines as an alternative to traditional tests where chemicals are applied to the skin of an animal such as a rabbit.
«The problem with this approach,» says Garle, «is that you can
measure levels of
cytokines individually, but it does not give you an overall picture of how irritating a chemical might be.»

levels of multiple pro-inflammatory
cytokines in the blood serum.

measured TGFβ
levels in Optisol GS bathed rabbit and human corneas.

levels of
cytokines were
measured using ProcartaPlex Multiplex Immunoassays (eBioscience).
Since SLC6A14 is up - regulated in patients with ulcerative colitis indicating potential association between inflammation and the transporter [18], we
measured the plasma
levels of various
cytokines, but again failed to detect major changes in most of the
cytokines analysed (result not shown).

levels of inflammatory cells and inflammatory immune system
cytokines after 13 weeks.

levels of
cytokines in blood plasma of the sample group.
To analyze relationships among behavior (high vs low hostile) on the
cytokine levels of each subject at each visit (social support or conflict) and each point, mixed models from SAS 9.1 (SAS Institute Inc, Cary, NC) were used with repeated
measures across spouse, visit, and time of day.
