To enhance the educational effectiveness of video in the schools, educators are urged to promote active viewing and critical
analysis of
media texts, assign video as homework, use segments of no more than ten to 15 minutes, and use television programming as a bridge to public television, museums, community groups,
cultural organizations, and professional and industry associations.
