When it comes to travel rewards, transferable points like Amex
Membership Rewards or Chase Ultimate Rewards — which you accrue in a central account and can then transfer to a

Calling to get this worked out isn't such a big deal really, but you can avoid all
of that if you just sign up for a United, American
Airlines, IHG, whatever account BEFORE you apply for the card, and include that
membership number on your application.
I love me some American Express credit and charge cards, mainly because
of the ability to earn
Membership Rewards points which I can transfer points to a
number of airline and hotel partners, including Star Alliance members ANA and Air Canada, through which I can book United / Star Alliance flights.
