It assumes that Truth is to be found, and that God is not hiding it from us, that the Church is
no mere human institution, that God is bigger than human mistakes.
The implementation and monitoring of
human rights enforcement going beyond
mere legislations but insisting on the creation of national structures,
institutions and organs of society which play a given role is stressed.
In Conscience and Obedience, William Stringfellow has it right, I think: «The principalities (governments,
institutions, and even the church) are autonomous in relation to
humans; they are created beings in their own right, not simply projections of
human life, and their demonic character as fallen powers is no
mere consequence of
human sin either personal or corporate.»
