over meyer — although if you make this choice the blanching step is very necessary to make the lemon rinds edible in the tart.

My mother
grows meyer lemons in her backyard and sends me boxes of them when they ripen.
I had heard of them and seen them on many restaurant menus, but I had never actually
researched meyer lemons or bought them.
I do still have a soft spot for citrus desserts — lemon, lime, orange, and
especially meyer lemon, which we're lucky enough to have in the Bay Area.
Ingredients Carmelized Candied Meyer Lemon 1 medium
size meyer lemon 1/2 cup (100 g) white granulated sugar
If you do not
get meyer lemons in your area you can make this with regular lemons.
Made without any eggs or butter, check out these
vegan meyer lemon bars that start with a lemon curd base, thickened with coconut milk, seated on a coconut oil shortbread crust.
Ingredients: - Pomegranates (roughly six, depending on their size)- peel of 1 lemon (I
prefer meyers)- cinnamon stick - 3 cups vodka - 1 1/2 cups white sugar - 3/4 cup water Utensils: - A large glass jar (I used a 3 litre jar)- large plastic bowl - paring knife - vegetable peeler (or knife)- measuring cups (liquid and dry)- metal strainer - cheescloth - saucepan - small funnel - glass bottles or storage containers for the final product
