When water vapor condenses in the atmosphere it forms
microscopic water droplets.
By tracking the diameters of
microscopic water droplets in an evacuated chamber (meaning, vacuum - sealed with nothing inside, not even air) and illuminating them with lasers, the scientists were able to record measurements of unprecedented precision.
Public bathrooms are terrible places to pump for a lot of reasons, not the least of which is because a toilet sprays an aerosol «plume» of
microscopic water droplets tainted with urine and fecal matter whenever it is flushed, and nobody wants any of that getting near breastmilk.

water suspended in the wind that make up fog.
The grooves are just the right size and shape to condense

Using
microscopic video recordings, the team showed that underwater oil
droplets flowed continuously along the needles at a rate of 2 millimeters per second, similarly to the way
water moves along cactus needles, the team reports online today in Nature Communications.
Experiments and simulations showed that a
water droplet on a repellent surface will freeze upward into a
microscopic six - armed formation that resembles an idealized snowflake, with only a small portion of its base adhering to the surface.
Another hurricane - moderating hypothesis, this one advanced by Daniel Rosenfeld of Hebrew University of Jerusalem and William Woodley, an independent weather - modification researcher based in Colorado, holds that seeding a hurricane's lower reaches with
microscopic dust particles — perhaps microbits of salt — would generate minute
water droplets by giving the vapor something to attach to.
There have been articles as far back as the 70s concerning global dimming but it's only very recently, apparently, that all of the probable causes (e.g. the
microscopic particles causing smaller
water droplets in clouds, enhancing the mirror effect, as well as contrails) have been understood.
Simultaneously, as the average liquid
droplet becomes smaller through evaporation, the vapor's density increases, so more vapor molecules merge at a faster rate to become
microscopic liquid
droplets, and more
water molecules are ionized.
