the reason that microsoft didn't put hd dvd in the 360 was because they didn't know if it would win and they also said that if br win then they will just go with br and if they put it in the 360 they will sell it around $ 400 and it will still be cheaper then the ps3, so just because br won doesn't mean that the ps3 will win, hell the ps3 always had a br player in it and the 360 didn't have any and it's still beating the ps3.the truth is that they both will be around as long as people want to play games and they will probaly run neck and neck like i said microsoft already said that if br win they would go with br when the war first started and it will be know problem and as far as sony charging more for microsoft to use the br drive is ridcilious because first, sony doesn't completly own br because br have a lot of other companies and people that invested in it and will make money just like sony will and second sony will want to make a good deal with microsoft because it would benefit both companies not just microsoft.hell microsoft had to pay to make an hd dvd add on for the 360 and i bet that it will be around the same price, maybe a little higher but not much for the br drive.

So then we know microsoft is at the very least ATTEMPTING to bring the cloud into gaming for more than just game saves.

The way sony handled it (again, if that drm thing is true) showed them in a positive light and a lot more customer oriented unlike microsoft who just said «screw you» and tried to shove it down our throats.

The only reason why sonyfanboys hate on microsoft attempts to market the cloud for gaming purposes is because sony is NOT, sony basicly has a very limited vision of cloud streaming with gaikai and that wont even be ready until sometime in 2014??? Thus as usual sonyfanboys fear anything the competition does until sony does it because whether it can actually be useful or not is irrevelant they just don't want anybody to enjoy anything they don't.

I'm not saying this to be offensive to Xbox players, I'm just pointing out that the FPS genre in particular does really well on that platform, it started last gen because FPS was more of a PC genre, and since Xbox is similar to PC from a game design perspective, a lot of FPS programmers decided to make an extra buck by porting to Xbox, plus microsoft encouraged them to so that they could get some exclusives, whereas the playstation platform has always focused on other genres.

I hope they don't downgrade it just for XBOX, look all XBOX microsoft fanboys I have both PS3 & 360.

That said, the 2 games in the lineup are infinitely better than any of the other offerings we've had this year it's just bad timing that you have 2 decent (not amazing mind you, I've played both) games when microsoft is offering 4 very good titles.

1st party sales will probably decline across the board, well for sce and microsoft at least, the big third party sales will just seem normal as everything else just kinda dissipates
