A lot
of critics loved McDonagh's previous feature, In Bruges, but my criticism

The first insight that screenwriter Ben Queen has abandoned almost all that came before arrives in the prologue, an action sequence set on an oil rig in the
middle of the ocean and featuring a character that has nothing to do

Empathetic and at odds
with her people's cynical outlook on
Middle Earth, Tauriel actually cares about people in need
of help (including dwarves, the sworn rivals
of elves), so it's her internal conflict that gives the
movie its only shallow
of humanistic depth.
Owen Wilson, who I don't even remember being in this, gets a lot more to do than I remembered, complete
with not just the misfortune
of being the «horny guy» in a horror
movie, but a functioning character arc that adds some
middle act intrigue to the whole affair.

with corruption in his own department, the
movie becomes an expert thriller alongside a moving drama examining the psyches
of its two main characters.
My only dilemma is that since the
movie is filled
with so much hard hitting dialogue, you find yourself getting a little jaded near the
middle of the
movie.
Returning home, the local arm
of the law (embodied by professional
movie villain Martin Csokas), armed
with an antiquated sense

There may be a day when computer graphics completely supersede the need to have celebrities in the

of the human actor will be
with us for a long time to come.
In the feature, Donaldson effectively compares and contrasts the career trajectories for Mimi Leder, who made her name through her Emmy - winning work on «ER,» directed the one

Now 4 years have past since the announcement
of The Hobbit
movie, a project that has endured complications, starts, delays, lawsuits and changes
of director from the word go while we all waited
with baited breath for that fateful return to the
Middle Earth.
And if Gerwig isn't reinventing the coming -
of - age
movie, she's certainly investing it
with uncommon wit and quotability; her dialogue hits that rare, special sweet spot between authenticity and zing — an ideal
middle ground, in other words, between the way people actually talk and the gut - busting way we only want them to.
The

While I'm still hoping this film will do justice to the Biblical Mary Magdalene and not play into the same false, sexist narrative she's had to deal
