In the midfield, (including RWB & LWB) we have a whole bunch of tweeners... none offer the full package, none make sense in our manager's current favourite formation, except for Sead on the left and Ox on the right, and all of them have never shown any consistency for more than a heartbeat... Sead, who I'm including in this category because of our present formation, looks like a positive addition, minus his occasional brain farts, but I would rather see what he could do in a back 4 before making my mind up... Ox, who has never played better, which isn't saying much considering his largely underwhelming play in previous seasons, seems to have found a home in this new formation; unfortunately, can we really expect this oft - injured player to handle the taxing duties that come with said position over the long haul, not to mention, it looks like he has no intention of staying... Ramsey has relied on the empathy that stems from his gruesome injury years ago and the excitement that was generated a few years back when he finally seemed to put in altogether, but on the whole he has been a big disappointment (neither he nor the Ox have scored enough to warrant a regular spot)... Wiltshire should be put on a weekly contract then played until he suffers his first injury, if and when that occurs he should be shipped - out and no one should very be allowed to say his name on club grounds ever again... Elnehy & Coq are average players who couldn't make any of the top 7 teams currently in the EPL... both have showed some great energy on the pitch, but neither are top quality and no good team can afford to have that many average players on their bench playing the same position, especially with Coq's injury history / discipline concerns and Elheny's headless chicken tendencies... as for Xhaka, his tenure here so far has been incredibly underwhelming... we know he has some skills to provide the long ball but his defensive work is piss poor and he gives the ball away too cheaply and far too often... finally, the enigma himself, Ozil, so much skill with his left foot but his presence has been more frustrating than uplifting... in many respects his failure has been directly related to the failure of this club to provide him with the necessary players up front, minus Sanchez of course, and unless something drastic happens very soon his legacy will be largely a negative one (much like Wenger's)
Nasri played there and was successful and effective I think Mr wenger is trying to mold him that way Football is a game and can be manipulated in many ways one being 442 perhaps he is better suited in that formation in the right midfield but not as a winger so maybe he should share carzolas job I do nt know I am not MR Wnger and I have not been out to a training session to judge

If your CB's are awful in a 4 back system then they'll be exposed as well in a 3 back system no matter what happens. You're just delaying the time for them to get exposed and deceiving yourself. Our problem was not about formation. It was about tactics yet no one saw this and thought 3 -4-3 was our saviour.Look at our starting CB's in 4 back: Koscielny and Mustafi who are all quality. The midfield is the problem. It's not the 3 back or 4 back.In 3 back also our players are not suited for that formation hence I advice Wenger to switch back before it's too late.We need to revert to 4 back and play the right players in the centre. We needed a DM to make our midfield stable but we didn't so we have to make do with what we have.

Our 3 back is just so wrong. We don't have natural wingbacks even in this formation. It also seems to me that lots of people here believe if you're good at right or left fullback then automatically you're good at RWB / LWB which quite frankly is untrue. That's why Oxlade Chamberlain can be considered at RWB but not right back.At RWB or LWB you're asking too much in terms of attack from Bellerin and Kolasinac.A proper wing back can be viewed as a more defensive winger which quite frankly none of them are and they don't possess the flexibility too to play that way.Our midfielders are also not disciplined enough because in 3 back there's a huge gap in the centre of the field that must be covered by our CM's so indiscipline only means disaster. We also have Ozil who looks like he's playing at RW in 3 back.In that we're limiting his impact because Ozil takes on his man because he wants to not because he likes to.You can't play such players at the wing. He's a proper No. 10 who likes to be given freedom. That's why Ozil plays likes he's lazy on the ball and stuff. It's because he wants to be free and for that you need to put him at No. 10.

All these qualities make him a versatile player capable of playing anywhere in the midfield or out on the right wing.
Possible rotations which wouldn't weaken the team significantly... Gab for Per Debuchy for Hector (if Debuchy is alright) Gibbs for Monreal Theo for Rambo (Theo can play as a true RW with Debuchy being restraint in his forward runs) Jack for Santi (Jack to do the Deep Lying role) Welbz for Sanchez (stick to the right... will support Gibbs on his forward runs) Rosicky for Ozil (TR7 is still an effective creator and adds bite to the midfield)
Debuchy use to play on the right side of French midfield anyway... and he is not getting any minutes at all now....

I agree and even though the Community Shield against Chelsea next weekend is not that important in the grans scheme of things I think we need to show that last weekend was a blip and just as a fast start in the Premier League is important I think a strong start to our Emirates Cup would be handy so let's not have some inexperienced young midfielder playing on the right of defence.

As I said after that game, the only reason City were toothless was that they played 2 holding midfielders that are exactly the same, Fernandinho and Fernando are technically poor and can't create for toffee, but if City had Yaya Toure in that midfield to absolutely bully the likes of Cazorla, Ramsey and The Coq it would have been a completely different game, City lost that Box to Box energy Yaya gives them and that played right into our hand as they were static in midfield..
