My saviour came in the form of a lovely
midwife assistant at the clinic during Alex's newborn check up appointment.
She has been teaching prenatal yoga since 1998 and instructs the Integral Yoga Prenatal and Postpartum Teacher Training Programs, as well as being a
certified Midwife Assistant, labor support doula, and childbirth educator.
She trained with Birth Arts International for her Labor Support Training and is completing
her midwife assistant training with them as well.
What is so important to me as
a midwife assistant is knowing that the midwife I support is so well trained and with her guidance and my education I feel confident that we can deal with any compromised birth situation.
Each of
our midwife assistants have taken an intensive Midwifery Assistant course, are certified in Neonatal Resuscitation through intubation and emergency medication administration, basic life support, and S.T.A.B.L.E..
I am
a midwife assistant at Jubilee Birth Center and I also teach Birth Boot Camp classes.
Last Spring she travelled to Summertown Tennessee to The Farm to train as
a midwife assistant.
In 2007, Debra completed
a Midwife Assistant Program with Ina May Gaskin, Pamela Hunt and many of the other Farm Midwives at The Farm Midwifery Center in Tennessee.
Beth is certified as
a midwife assistant & labor doula through The Farm in Tennessee.
