Yesterday we found this little wash stand and I thought it was the perfect piece to try some of Miss Mustard Seed's new European
milk paint colors on.
We wanted to feature
a milk paint color on this old / new piece, so we went with Boxwood, with peeks of Lucketts.

This might be a question for the
milk paint blog but I is the Apron strings pink more of a peachy pink or a red pink it is so hard to tell
on the screen what
color Apron Strings full strength is to me.

If you put a base coat of
milk paint on a piece with the bonding agent and then put a top layer
on in another
color will you get that wonderful chipping?
I
painted it in a
paint product I was testing out, but the pale blue
color was blending into the wall and I really wanted the character that I love so much from
milk paint, so I slapped
on a coat of Boxwood one morning.

Natural resin has been used in one room for floor
coloring, and old - fashioned
milk paint was used
on the floor of the main bedroom and the hallway.
After it was dry, I
painted on some «Grain Sack»
colored milk paint I got from my friend Marian (Miss Mustard Seed)...
That first coat of green is the same
color I had custom - mixed to match our 130 - year old wall boards, but I also want to add one more layer of texture /
color, so I'll be
painting on a bit of «Layla's Mint»
milk paint when it arrives this afternoon.

Since now they are past their prime, the
colors witnessed that Sunday were more muted, and my mind immediately paralleled them to Mustard, Barn and Salem Red, and Bayberry (you can tell Old Fashioned
Milk Paint is always
on my mind) and how I could translate them to the little desk I was
painting.
I went
on to
paint about three coats of Miss Mustard Seed
Milk Paint in the
color Artissimo
on this particular dresser to ensure complete coverage.

They have been made in every
color from
milk glass to black glass, and in a variety of finishes including frosting, iridizing, fired -
on painting, staining, and hand
painting.
Think about
painting walls, cupboards or wood furnishings with a fresh wash of
milk - white and add just a few homespun accents... for a splash of
color, hang a quilt
on the wall from a curtain rod or throw it over a chair..........

The deep, rich
colors match the classic chalky, velvety, mottled look characteristic of the original
milk paint used
on walls and furniture in colonial America.
This product comes in a selection of
colors (see them here), the natural option will have the least impact
on your
milk paint color while the Cappucino will darken up your
color quite a bit.
I've been itching to play with
milk paint since attending the retailer training earlier this week, so why not test some custom mixed
colors on a few pumpkins?
I love the new
milk paint color, it's totally in my preferred range of shades, but I am so sad to see it go
on that beautiful dresser!
