I am anti-puppy
mill, have to agree that this bill does not go far enough on limiting number of litters per year (I personally think that a breeder should have a waiting list) but if this is the sort of thing that is going on with dog
breeding (I have been researching for a future
pup), I will forgo the research and look for «Freedom» dogs.

mill puppy will condemn the

This doesn't change the fact that if the puppy was
bred in a puppy
mill, some unscrupulous individual still profited from the sale of the
pup.
There will always be those who insist on a pure -
bred pup and therefore breeders and puppy
mills will continue to exist.

pups also has led disreputable breeders to place dogs in unsafe conditions — frequently referred to as puppy
mills — where they are
bred repeatedly under abusive conditions that cause lasting damage to the dog.
However, what PeTA, HSUS and other such groups may really be doing is enabling puppy
mills to continue providing ill -
bred pups by freeing up more room in the shelter.
Compared to the breeder we got our GSD from, whom I'm almost positive now was nearly puppy
mill, who didn't interview, who lowered the price to $ 100 because they «couldn't get rid of her» and couldn't continue
breeding because the female was too obsessed with her 10 - week - old
pup to worry about their male, who disappeared off the charts after we got our
pup... there's bad breeders out there.
The HSUS estimates that roughly half of the 2 million
pups bred in
mills are sold in stores these days; the rest are trafficked online.
The worst places to get a
pup are pet shops and kennels that get their
pups from off - premises sources, since these animals actually come from commercial
breeding operations, nicknamed puppy

remember, 99 % of all dogs sold at pet stores come from puppy
mills, where they
breed dogs for profit without regard to the parent or
pup's health.
If a bitch whelps twice a year and has five
pups each time, the 10X $ 300 (or more) = $ 3,000 value for that bitch... That will slow the puppy
mills acquisition of
breeding stock.
Unethical breeders and puppy
mills continue to mass produce animals for profit without regard for the quality of
pups produced or the quality of the lives of their
breeding dogs.
