milled flax seed in my oatmeal for about two years now.
I would think you could just add in the Tbsp of
milled flax seed in it's place, though!
Not exact matches
I also used chia
seeds instead of
milled flax (using the same amounts as
in the original recipe) and it worked really well.
That all said, good quality
flax evidenced by
seeds that are uniform
in color, not broken, and not diseased (as evidenced by discoloration) will be stable for at least 2 years even after
milled.
Then I add 1 tablespoon of
milled flax seeds and whisk them
in.
Separately
in a small bowl, add the
milled flax seeds and hot water, mix and set aside.
For the cupcakes: 1 1/2 c coconut milk 1/3 c canola oil 3/4 c sugar 1 tsp vanilla extract 1 tsp almond extract 4 oz semi-sweet baking chocolate, melted 1/8 c tapioca starch 2 tbsp ground

We go through a loaf
in no time, and I also use a sourdough and a 1/4 cup golden
milled flax seed.
I used spinach, frozen cherries,
milled flax seed, plain homemade yogurt, coconut milk, oatmeal, and Nutella... I'm
in heaven right now.

As an added benefit, chia
seeds can be eaten whole or
milled, while
flax seeds have to be ground before consumption
in order to access their health benefits for example.
The bioavailability of ALA is dependent on the type of
flax ingested (ALA has greater bioavailability
in oil than
in milled seed, and has greater bioavailability
in milled seed than
in whole
seed).
If you want to get adventurous, add
in avocado, nuts,
seeds,
milled flax or chia.
Eating healthy... mixed greens, salmon, tuna, organic chicken, nuts, almond milk and almond butter, fruit and berries
in the morning, Greek yogurt, cheese, vegetables, eggs, sweet potatoes, quinoa, squash, freekeh, wheat fiber (red
mill),
flax seed - barlean's, goods fats... avocados, olive oil, coconut oil.
Regardless if they're whole
seeds,
milled seeds, meal, or oil, it's
in your best interests to skip the
flax altogether.
I also threw
in some
milled flax / chia
seeds for the omega 3s and a bit of protein.
We highly recommend buying
flax in only 2 ways: 1) whole
seed and grind yourself - OR - 2) Cold
Milled ground
flax seed.

Regardless of age, many dogs» allergies are controlled by improving the quality of their diet, giving them high potency acidophilus cultures and high doses of fish oils; adding freshly
milled flax seed; and,
in some cases, giving them antihistamines.
I (unfortuneately) always have a batch of my Gourmet GF Chocolate Chip Cookies, with ground oatmeal and
milled flax seed,
in my freezer.
