Digital Radio Norway estimates that 7.9
million radio sets will be
affected, and that only 20 per cent
of car radios in Norway can pick up DAB.
That brings the total number
of affected cars in the U.S. to 68.8
million or more than a quarter
of the
cars on the road.
Other automakers
affected by defective Takata airbags include Chevrolet, who issued a stop - sale
of 2013 - 14 Chevrolet Cruze models last month; Honda, who recalled more than 2
million vehicles in the U.S.; Nissan, who recalled approximately 228,000 vehicles; Mazda, who recalled approximately 34,000
cars in high - humidity states; and Toyota, who recalled 844,277 models with Takata airbags earlier this year.
A total
of 2.7
million cars could be
affected.
Most
of the
affected vehicles were sold in North America, but up to a quarter
of a
million cars are
affected in other markets around the world, and the models under scrutiny have been sold in the UK too - some as personal imports, others through official channels.
