way too many great
scientific minds that happen to believe
in God for you to take sides on this issue.

way failed to grasp the truth
in the new
scientific discoveries and set the
mind and heart of the Church against the truth recently discovered.
I don't need
scientific proof to know that nobody
in their right
mind would choose to be ostracized and impugned the
way they are.
Certainly that is ONE
way to interpret the current data, and I happen to think it is very likely that your statement is correct (I am a «believer»
in my own
mind of this statement), but it is not an automatic a ssumption and there are several
scientific and philosophical papers that describe viable mechanisms that would overturn that a ssumption.
Those who reacted
in a purely defensive
way to the presentation of Darwin's theories failed to grasp the truth of the new
scientific discoveries and set their
minds and hearts against the new discoveries, spending so much time and energy defending the indefensible that they failed to make truly relevant the deepest insights of the faith.
We should never forget that behind
scientific pursuits are our
minds, our hearts, and our souls, and that we can help one another
in ways that we can't help ourselves.
