minute makeup day (for me this is usually maybe concealer, powder, mascara, gloss).

If I plan on wearing
makeup that
day, I wait about 30
minutes after washing my face and applying the lotion before I start putting my foundation on.
All I did was drink out of a straw the entire
day and I kept checking my
makeup every 15
minutes.
Sure, there are some
days where I might miraculously have 20 - 30
minutes to get ready by myself and be able to do a full face of
makeup (without toddler interruptions, of course), but if I'm being honest, I typically have 5 - 10
minutes TOPS to get myself ready.
In the summer, I prefer natural
makeup where I can be out the door in under five
minutes — after all, most of it melts off in the 100 ° F
days we had this year — but as soon as it's fall, I tend to drift towards a little bit more of a dramatic
makeup look.
However although I might not have a
makeup artist at my disposal every
day, I learned so much during those 60
minutes that I felt infinitely more confident about recreating the look at home and incorporating the techniques used into my everyday
makeup application.
A few
minutes after takeoff, I removed my foundation with
makeup wipes, settled into a movie, then popped Peach & Lily's Good Skin
Day Mask ($ 6; barneys.com) on my face.
This is not to be confused with a quick 5 -
minute makeup routine to get you out the door (that's another video coming soon), but I typically wear this type of
makeup for blog shoot
days, meetings, events, nights, etc..

Slowing down and taking a couple of
minutes to really remove all the dirt, grime and
makeup that sticks to my skin on a daily basis (especially on
days I am flying) has become a new ritual and a time I look forward to everyday.
I love being able to throw on some quick
makeup and look fresh and ready for the
day in just a few
minutes, so let's get started.

By getting up 10
minutes earlier, you can also experiment with your
makeup a bit more and this additional time is ideal for giving you a good start to the
day.

minutes to get ready in the morning — this usually means a rinse in the shower, styling some
day old hair, and throwing on basic
makeup before heading out for the
day with the little one!
