Use a mug to remove 1/2 a cup of water, you can use that to mix into
your miso in a few steps.

few tablespoons of the hot water into a small bowl and whisk
in the
miso (to thin it out a bit — this
step is to avoid clumping).

in the end I really just combined the spicy
miso paste with my spicy broth and strained with a fine sieve, and used it as the base.
