For a long time we have heard that heavily
processed meats and preservative - filled junk
foods are unhealthy — and this makes sense — but there is a new generation of
processed foods claiming to supply vital nutrients that may be
missing from the time - starved consumer's diet.
So, this chart actually extends far off to the right, hundreds of additional bright green columns capturing all the phytonutrients found in whole plant
foods, but largely
missing from processed and animal derived
foods.
Obviously, if your diet consists of a lot of packaged and
processed foods, if you're shopping down the isles of the grocery store instead of on the outside of the store — where the fruits, vegetables and lean meats are located — you're
missing out on valuable nutrition
from your diet and are likely on toxic overload.
I
miss the more natural
food choices and want to get away
from all the
processed foods.
