Adding to the frustration is how simple a solutions could have fixed this: either have the new character spawn at the nearest safe house or have
the missions objective markers reset.

Sprawling hubs busy with activity
markers provide ample opportunities for players to explore and complete MMO-esque side quests, but when every game features strongholds, stylised combat, stealth mechanics, and a similar selection of
mission objectives, a sense of tedium is inevitable.
My favourite way to get to a story
mission -
marker was to sprint to Steelport's central island, bound up the tallest skyscraper while charging an upgraded tier three superjump, then leap off and glide toward my
objective.
There are still many activities that must be completed by a certain time on a certain day or that content is missed and the story irrevocably altered, but the time allowed per
mission is beyond generous, so only those utterly unable to focus their non-stop zombie destruction in the direction of an
objective marker will miss out.
Whilst there aren't any
objectives,
mission markers, or anything of that sort to direct you in your quest — you will quickly realise that any such attempt to implement these in the game would be obstructive.
Finding these
missions and their
objectives can be cumbersome as the
markers only pop up when bringing up your Ghost which acts as a menu screen.
There was no
objective marker for the penultimate
mission, when my
objective was «somewhere outside the space station» (yeah, good luck with that), and I started arbitrarily losing items from my inventory.
Whether I was in the middle of a
mission or strolling around the game's central hub, it was often a struggle to find any
objective marker in a clear and concise manner.
