If I took the time to correct the information first and then went through the
test, my exposure to the information while fixing the
mistakes meant that a timer would not adequately reflect how long it would take to answer the questions during the actual
test, and if I tried to write the
test under timed conditions without first correcting the
mistakes then the
extra time taken would not allow me to adequately answer the questions.
