The disclosure required in paragraph (a) need not be made for
mixed breed animals if the information is not available and can not be determined by the pet dealer.
The problem has never been with the breed, especially since most dogs referred to as pit bulls are
merely mixed breed animals sharing a general appearance.
Only 25 percent of the dogs and a very small percentage of cats will be purebred; 75 percent of dogs and nearly all of the cats will be
mixed breed animals that originated in unplanned and largely unwanted litters.
Being a purebred does NOT make for a better pet nor a healthier one;
mixed breed animals are often healthier since rarely are they inbred nor carry the many genetic problems common to certain breeds.
Many times,
mixed breed animals are healthier than purebred's.
In
a mixed breed animal, age is harder to predict, but an active knowledge of their background or size does help in predicting this figure.
Spaying and neutering
a mixed breed animal can help undo some of the breeding wrongs.
Our younger and / or purebred animals help defray costs for older or
mixed breed animals.
A mixed breed animal is often the best of both worlds.
