All RDX models also come standard with Acura's Integrated Dynamics System, with four distinct drive modes: Comfort, Sport, Sport + and Snow modes, controlled from the center console - mounted drive

dial to select Hybrid
mode, and it's
like something explodes behind us: The 608 - hp, 4.6 - liter V - 8 engine fires to life.
You might also have a parasitic draw, i.e. something that is using too much current when the car is switched off - this can be checked by switching the meter into current
mode (A on the
dial) and putting it in series with the battery - but don't attempt to start the car
like that or you'll destroy the meter...
Like many of these systems, the
dials change depending on driver
mode, including a video game style animation when the contentious line - lock
mode is activated.
In full luxury
mode it, feels
like a proper sports sedan;
dial everything up to Sport Plus and it's almost rabid.
Rotate the

modes: Normal, Sport, Sport Plus and a new Individual setting that calls up driver pre-programmed tuning of things
like dynamic engine mounts, shift maps, throttle response, exhaust, and PASM adjustable suspension.
We
liked the V6 more and more as the day wore on, and then on the second day we got in the blown V8 First things first: We
dialed up the Dynamic
mode, tuned for faster road driving — it firms the suspension, adds some weight to the steering and sends additional torque to the rear wheels.
The Sport
mode really
dials this car up,
like slipping it a Red Bull.
Like the supercar, a drive
mode dial is placed high in the center console.
Climate control functions are operated by traditional
dials and buttons on the center stack, but things
like the engine on - off switch, parking sensors, stop - start, traction control and driving
modes are all controlled by toggle switches.
Turn the drive
mode dial to Sport, find your nearest curvy road, and prepare to giggle
like a child.
And
like its manual counterpart the AMT also has the three driving
modes, namely Sport, City and Eco - which you can switch on the fly using a rotary
dial placed between the front seats.
The smartphone also supports 4K video recording, and its camera - style control
dial lets you switch among multiple
modes including smart auto, macro, video, HDR, manual and more just
like holding a digital camera.
All the game
modes were built into the console, and the cards just let you select each
mode,
like a more cumbersome switch or
dial.
This
dials back some of the craziness from multilayer and makes matches focus more on strategy and teamwork, especially in the highly competitive
modes like Supremacy and Countdown.
We're sure some will bristle at these concessions, but
dialing back the
mode's ambiguous roots feels
like a smart move.
Samsung also showed off an iPhone -
like bokeh
mode dubbed «Live Focus,» allowing users to
dial up and down the amount of depth of field in a photograph, both
like while taking the photo, as well as in post-production.
The OS also features screen pinning, which restricts others to only one screen (
like an app or game), and a guest
mode, which lets others access the phone's Google apps, camera, messages, and
dialer.
Anyway, the camera app itself is very unique DSLR
like dial with haptic feedback to switch the
modes.
And this time around Huawei's also done a better job to ensure built - in apps
like the
dialer, messaging app and settings panel scale sensibly in landscape
mode.
For example, we didn't
like using the onscreen
dial to adjust shutter speed in manual
mode, so we created a second control
dial that moved the
mode options to the screen, and instead used the two physical controls for ISO and shutter speed.
The wheel interface, as a whole, is incredibly brilliant and solid feeling, with a natural
dial -
like interface for adjusting every little section in manual
mode.
