Stewart says the study should help NASA's Juno mission come up with better
models of Jupiter's interior
layers when the spacecraft goes into orbit
around the planet in July 2016.
Biomolecular
model based on the gene expression data analyses support the reduction of glucose molecules (blue gradient) and acid buildup (gold gradient) proposed to occur in the boundary
layer around the cell.
Their mathematical

Pritchard et al. used a combination of satellite laser altimetry and
modelling of the surface firn
layer to show ice - shelf thinning
around Antarctica as a result of increased basal melt.
Assuming an iron - rich planet with an internal structure like Earth,
modelling results for the first discovered super-Earth (GJ 876 d) indicate the existence of a threshold in planetary diameter above which a super-Earth «most certainly» has a high water content (an «ocean planet» or «water world,» where thick
layers of water and pressurized ice surround a rocky mantle and core); this threshold was found to be
around 24,000 kilometers (or nearly 15,000 miles) in the particular case of GJ 876 d (Valencia et al, 2007).
Although this is an over simplified
model, I believe it is closer to the truth than the current idea that a change in the height of
layer of atmosphere near the tropopause,
around 100 mb, can affect the temperature of the planet at the 1000 mb level.
These same

around 2040.
The average

layer of the idealized atmospheric
model of Suarez and Duffy 1992, for several different values of the strength of an imposed tropical heat source.
However, while the horizontal resolution of 2.5 ° (T42) or better in the atmospheric component of many coupled
models is probably adequate to resolve most important features, the typical vertical resolution of
around 20 levels is probably too low, particularly in the atmospheric boundary
layer and near the tropopause.
