Can those of you who
model climate shed any light, for us laypeople, on what happens if we wait 10, 20, 50, or 100 years to reduce emissions?

The
model has novel implications both for when people choose to obtain or avoid information, and it
sheds light on phenomena, such as political polarization and emotionally charged beliefs relating to topics like the cause of autism and the reality of
climate change.
A new NASA
climate model sheds light on the early years of our neighbor, suggesting a period billions of years long that could've sustained life.
Dear RC, Is it not possible that scientists and mathematicians from the science of non linear dynamics (which maths I am presuming is being used in the maths of
climate models) to
shed light on the amplification and dampening of the
climates feedback cycles and hence the so called «sensitivity» issue and hence the possible range of temperatures?
«There's a lot more money and funding to produce modern
climate products like these advanced
climate models, than there is wallowing around in some third world pit of a storage
shed and unearthing a bunch of paper records,» says Allen.
Scientists don't have good enough long - term observational records of tornadoes to tell, if
climate change is affecting tornadoes, and
climate models don't
shed any light on the issue, either.
For their study, Hansen and his colleagues combined ancient paleo -
climate data with new satellite readings and an improved
model of the
climate system to demonstrate that ice sheets can melt at a «non-linear» rate: rather than an incremental melting as Earth's poles inexorably warm, ice sheets might melt at exponential rates,
shedding dangerous amounts of mass in a matter of decades, not millennia.
A further question is that if this paper
sheds new light on a possible factor in
climate change which «would require higher resolution sea - ice and ocean
models than used in todays global
climate models», does this not suggest that todays global
climate models are insufficiently able to project
climate change?
