Since coming to PNNL, he has led or been significantly involved in studies of effects of surface heterogeneity on boundary layer structure, of mesoscale
atmospheric flows induced or
modulated by complex terrain, of the simulation of dust emission by wind erosion, and of the capabilities of a variety of
atmospheric instruments — including a mass spectrometer and wind profiling radar — for measuring
atmospheric turbulence.
