averaged for the
monthly mean.
For example, a client considering a
monthly retainer or fixed fees for specified tasks only has to look at past
hourly bills to see what the
average fee and deviations therefrom have been.
In the 12 months ending in April,
average hourly earnings rose 2.5 %, generally on par with the 2.6 %
average monthly gain in 2016, and up from 2.3 % in 2015 and 2.1 % 2014.
Average hourly earnings were a major disappointment for August with just a 0.1 percent
monthly increase.
