It's already surprising to see that they're now localizing the Hatsune Miku games and Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax, but it'd also be nice to see
more Yakuza and Shining games or even Puyo Puyo Tetris come over if possible.
Hopefully that's something that changes as the years go on, both with
more Yakuza titles arriving and with Western game developers taking some cues from the adventures of Kiryu Kazma and his band of do - gooders.

You know, part of me feels that it has to be
more difficult to make a boring movie about the
yakuza than it is to make a good one.
The film is subsumed by the unshakable sense that Jared Leto is intended to make Martin Zandvliet's take on the
yakuza underworld
more palatable for American audiences.
While it surrenders the sweeping ambition that defined
Yakuza 0 and
Yakuza 5, it feels sharper,
more focused, and
more honest about its intentions.
In an effort to pay off a gambling debt to the Japanese
Yakuza, Salmon sets up a contest to «inspire» his waitstaff to sell
more food than they ever have before: the top selling server wins $ 10,000 while the waiter in last place gets served with a broken rib sandwich - courtesy of the Champ himself.
Giddily recycling everything from «2001: A Space Odyssey» and «The Matrix» to
yakuza actioners and National Geographic documentaries, it's a garish, trippy, wildly uneven and finally quite disarming piece of work, graced by a moment - to - moment unpredictability that will pique audience curiosity but may put off those who prefer their summer movies on the
more conventional side.
It's smaller and
more focused than usual but
Yakuza 6: The Song of Life retains the heart, charm and drama the series loves to dish out.
Whether dealing with random street thugs or the game's excellent and protracted boss battles, the core fighting mechanics of
Yakuza 0 are immensely satisfying,
more accessible and
more refined that earlier entries in the series.

Yakuza franchise is nothing like Grand Theft Auto, being
more of an action adventure title that comes across as a combination of Shenmue and Dynamite Deka.
But this film seemed
more focused on duplicating the original (come on guys - the jungle, booby traps, musical score, the
Yakuza's last stand with the sword, the big ass gun, Adrien Brody covering his body in mud and screaming «kill me!
Indeed, seeing all three in quick succession can make it tricky to tell the films apart — a fact which made the relief of witnessing the lurid violence of Takashi Miike's vampire - gangster film
Yakuza Apocalypse in the Quinzaine all the
more welcome (Miike's work being the generic flipside to the national cinema developed by his compatriots).

For
more comparisons, Monster Hunter Stories for Nintendo 3DS, which released a week prior to Samus Returns, moved 5,491 units, and PS4 title
Yakuza Kiwami, which released two weeks prior, managed to sell 2,428 copies by week 37.
Since the last two
Yakuza games released in the West were a prequel and a remake of the 2005 original, it's been a while since players have been involved in Kiryu's
more recent adventures.
And while series fans will be used to
Yakuza games including multiple minigames for
more serious time - wasting, like the ability to manage a hostess bar,
Yakuza 6 has gone nuts, adding not just a complete army recruitment / tactical combat system for gang warfare, but a baseball management game as well.
This month has a some heavy hitters like God of War,
Yakuza 6, and Nintendo Labo, plus
more Switch ports like South Park and Naruto Shippuden.

Although
Yakuza Kiwami was the
more recent game in the series reboot to be released,
Yakuza 0 was much
more of complete and whole experience whereas Kiwami seemed to struggle to keep up the pace.
I actually prefer it because it seems to fit the world
more (just like in
Yakuza).
There's a lot of Sega today, but throw in a bit of Bandai Namco and a sprinkling of Arcsys, and you've got
Yakuza battling, fighter jet dogfighting, tactical warfare and
more!
But when starting off this new side story in the
Yakuza universe, Sega did
more than just make a PSP game: They made an eleven episode live - action TV series to go along with it.
For years, it been
more a question of if we would ever get the next
Yakuza game in English, not when.
It's basically east meets west over the two films and I think I enjoyed the second
more because of its western theme and I'm
more of a cowboy spaghetti western fan than I am the
yakuza / samurai fan from the first.

I must have a thing for

yakuza characters determined to leave their past behind, because I liked this quite a lot.

While the release of Persona 5 necessitated leave from work and regular 3 am sessions,
Yakuza 0 undoubtedly had the better story, was
more open for exploration, and while graphics aren't the most important thing, the facial motion capture was second to none.

August was a huge month for PlayStation fans, with games such as Uncharted: The Lost Legacy releasing as well as
more niche titles such as
Yakuza Kiwami and Everybody's Golf.
While this simplicity does take away from the old system, it does allow for a lot
more to happen behind the scenes and gives players even
more reason to experience
Yakuza 6 to its fullest.
It'd be neat to see
more of
Yakuza 0 before
Yakuza 6 shows up in March.
People like Cloud, any Persona Protaganist (They've been on literally every PS system only and are hugely popular in Japan) even the damn Protaganist from
Yakuza series Kazuma Kiryu would make this game WAY
more appealing to the east.
