This feeling of threat activates the attachment system (see
more about attachment here)-- a biologically based system that works to keep your important relationships intact.1 Whenever the attachment system is activated, it motivates you to increase your sense of closeness and security with important others, such as your romantic partner.
I was sitting in an undergraduate class lecture when my professor introduced the concept of attachment styles (read

But I think your point about grieving the loss of a biological connection, pregnancy, breastfeeding, etc is a good one, and here I think it's also done to encourage people to really think about the backgrounds of the children up for adoption and to learn
more about attachment issues and child trauma... Fertility treatment and adoption are really not interchangeable and I think it's good to have a break from one before embarking on the other.

And, indeed, the most effective
attachment - focused home - visiting interventions offer parents not just parenting tips but psychological and emotional support: The home visitors, through empathy and encouragement, literally make them feel better
about their relationship with their infant and
more secure in their identity as parents.
There is plenty of
more extensive advice
about attachment and adoption, but this is the general idea.
The degree to which you use
attachment parenting has to work for your family, but I would highly recommend you find our
more about it, and follow the ideas as much as is practical.
(6) The physical bond that babywearing gives us, in any kind of carrier, gives us an emotional
attachment that can be so healing, both for the caregiver and the baby (if I had unlimited space here we could talk
more about the amazing therapeutic benefits for children, too!).
With language and memory, the rhythms of
attachment and separation become
more negotiated, talked
about, and planned, and there is
more of a back - and - forth between parent and child.
If you were
more educated
about sleep methods and evidence based practices based on
attachment theory and child development you would understand that «sleep training» is much
more than having a kid learn to not vocalize their needs so parents can sleep at all costs.
Like plants, it is all
about their
attachment roots; unlike plants, it is a great deal
more complicated.

attachments, children with mind - minded parents are also
more likely to show advanced reasoning
about the mental states of other people — what psychologists call «theory of mind» skills.
Bowlby developed the theory of
attachment because one of his goals was to preserve some of Freud's insights
about relationships and early experiences by casting them in a
more scientifically defensible framework.
However, be cautioned that above all,
attachment parenting is not so much
about practices parents must do and
more about an attitude they must have.
