The meal options I came up with had to be: # 1 things that would be fairly easy to prepare (I wasn't
about to take an extra hour on Sunday to make something elaborate), # 2 had to be foods I could easily manipulate the nutritional profile for (ensuring a balance of protein,
carbs, and fat), # 3 the food had to store well in the fridge or freezer, # 4 they had to reheat well in either the toaster or microwave OR be eaten cold right from the fridge, and # 5 ideally, they needed to be things she could easily eat in the car on the way to school (remember, it takes us at least 20 minutes with no traffic to get to school so eating in the car gives us even
MORE time to sleep lol).
These days I feel okay not knowing them and don't worry
about a day of
more carbs or fat because I rationally understand it'll all balance out in the big picture.
This lunch came
about because I am being mindful to eat
more pulses and whole grains but to cut back on processed
carbs.
But what
about claims that you can do a better job of protecting against hypertension (and other problems) by substituting

Lately, I've been reading
about obesity and low -
carb diets because my brother Rick lost
more than fifty pounds on the Atkins diet and is now a lot healthier.
I was skeptical
about the low
carbs being the problem too but since I've started taking supplements and adding some
more veggie
carbs into my diet I'm definitely feeling better every day so I hope they were right and it really is that simple of a fix!
A typical one tablespoon serving of hot sauce has
about two grams of
carbs, but the sweeter sauces will have
more.
I did a bunch of research and it made me feel a lot better
about my decision to add back some
more carbs and take the supplements — thanks so much for sharing that because it really helped me to read
about it!
The only alteration I made was using the tip suggested earlier in the comments
about making your own breadcrumbs out of «light» bread — this cut down on the
carbs a bit
more for those who are counting.
I really appreciate the fact that you keep an open mind
about different lower
carb eating plans, and
more importantly, I've never seen you really bash «other» diets like some low
carb commentators do.

This diet is all
about eating
more fats than both protein and
carbs which keeps you satiated throughout the day.
Guess the only thing I wonder
about is the nutritional info as germ has
more calories & protein, but less
carbs than bran.
I found it very inaccurate because MFP assumes lots of things
about ingredients and I also understand that they round up every time so you could easily get 4
more carb points per serving.
And when I pulled a can of soup out of the cupboard to check the
carbs so I could talk
about it accurately in the old recipe, my soup had been out - of - date for
more than 5 years, so definitely the version you see here is the one I'd be making now!
Each cup has 5 grams of
carbs, which may be
more than some of you would like to sip on, however it's
about the same as any homemade low
carb hot chocolate!

When people talk
about Americans eating
