I found that I needed it a little sweeter, so I added a little
more agave nectar and a touch of orange juice.

Agave nectar simply goes through less filtration and is heated at a a lower temperature so that it retains a
more full bodied flavor profile.
I've been making them for a while, I recently started replacing the
agave for raw coconut
nectar, I use less than 1/2 a cup but a bit
more than 1/4.
Anna Rhoades, I often use Coconut Secret's Coconut
Nectar in place of
agave as it's also a sticky liquid (so it doesn't change the recipe) and supposedly much healthier than
agave with a low glycemic index and
more nutrients.
You can substitute your preferred sugar 1:1, such as refined white sugar or coconut sugar (which has
more of an unrefined, molasses - quality taste) but please take note that if you prefer to use a liquid sweetener such as
agave nectar, it can change the consistency and taste of my recipe.
I am an occasional user of
agave nectar, but this gave me an opportunity to try it out in a few

I've read that
agave nectar naturally contains even
more synthetic fructose than high fructose corn syrup.
I use 2 T.
Agave nectar in place of the maple syrup as it is
more readily available here in the southwest.

I used a little
agave nectar instead of the vanilla extract (I am intolerant to vanilla) and added a little
more honey to it and it was just delicious!
It has added coconut oil and
agave nectar which makes the brownies a little
more moist and extravagant.
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar 4 - 5 tablespoons pure maple syrup or
agave nectar (or
more to taste) 2-1/2 - 3 tablespoons tamari 1 - 1-1/2 teaspoons freshly grated ginger 1-1/2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional; use
more or less to taste)
If you opt for a
more tart and somewhat paleo - approved drink, leave out the
agave nectar and save your self about 6 grams of sugar plus 27 calories.
As for
agave nectar, I have some in my cabinet, but have not gotten around to baking with it, mostly because it's so expensive, I don't want to have to buy
more anytime soon!

Honey is slightly lower in fructose, and is far
more natural than
agave nectar.
You can replace the honey with
agave nectar, maple syrup, or
more corn syrup to keep the recipe vegan.
If you like your cocktails a little
more tart, use less
agave nectar (and add
more as needed.)

agave nectar in Finland, soy yoghurt is too pricey and we didn't have flax seeds either, so we substituted water, orange juice (because I wanted some orange there), a little
more apple sauce, a few tablespoons of soy flour and a bit
