more like a traditional sports game's Franchise Mode, featuring the
ability to spend winnings on free agents and
armor, simulate or play the games, tracking of other games around the league, salary cap, stats, injuries, college draft, end of season tournament, and even a Sports Book to place wagers on matches.
Then you need to upgrade your soldiers
abilities, weapons,
armor, equipment through the use of research, at the cost of supplies and unique materials collected from missions, get back out there and launch yet
more missions.
So I could easily see a bit
more rpg so maybe some
abilities / skills (which would be new) built around play styles and / or gear, outfits,
armor, etc...
For example, with overly heavy
armor the dodge could become less proficient, but a shield could be wielded instead, or perhaps spears could have been introduced, giving you
more reach but less
ability to block.
Would you rather equip a powerful new piece of
armor, or stick it out with the weak one for a few dozen
more battles to learn a helpful
ability?
A lot of weapons and other items in the game must be found (or crafted) and the battle system becomes a bit
more extensive as you explore the
ability to re-enforce and alter the properties of weapons and
armor.
Unique amongst other brawlers of the time is the
ability to transform into
more powerful forms, like
armor - clad wolves and samurai warriors, with completely different attacks and enhanced powers.
Throughout 70 - plus stages and dozens of modes, players can upgrade the stats of their units, fortify their castle, obtain legendary
armor, and unlock even
more powerful combat
abilities.
While clearly their intention, I wish there were
more armor / shovel upgrades that were simply better than the standard equipment without sacrificing the baseline
abilities.
With a fantastic array of
abilities, a unifying theme, a
more present story, and the new Robobot
armor, it grants players a
more focused adventure than Triple Deluxe did.

I could go on for hours in ways the new
armor ability system made the overall experience that much
more exciting, but I feel it could be overstated, the only way to really get the gist of them is by hopping into the game and putting them to the test!
In addition to featuring better graphics than the original 4 - color CGA palette, Commando Enhanced also adds a lot of new gameplay elements, including new enemy types, the
ability to pick up and use grenades and radio to call in surgical air strikes, body
armor, and many
more special items.

It travels far but has narrow range, and when upgraded it will obtain the
ability to penetrate the
more ferocious enemies
