We've talked before about creating visual flow with
paint colors, but there is
more to consider when you want to create a room that not only looks
beautiful but feels cohesive as a whole.
and although God certainly doesn't mind if i re-
paint my kitchen walls, He certainly wants
more of my adoration than my
paint color catalog... He is what makes this season
beautiful, not my mercury glass votives.
In these cases, since the milk
paint likes to resist adhering to some areas and therefore naturally flakes off, the natural wood
color will peak through the brilliant or
more neutral hues of the
paint, creating a
beautiful harmonic contrast.
Mr. Project had undertaken the task to strip the whole thing in preparation for the new
paint, and when I saw how
beautiful the original wood was, we decided to stain (to make the
color / grain look
more uniform) and seal the top, and then
paint the bottom for contrast.
I
painted it with Glidden satin
paint in Tempting Teal, I wanted
more of a turquoise
color and added two parts white and it's now a
beautiful light turquoise.
