After mixing it together to bake a crust,
cake, cookie, muffin or whatever, I let it stand for a bit to absorb the liquid in the
recipe and become
more like a
batter or dough.
Anyways, to make this breakfast bake taste
more cake batter - y and less oat - y, I took the standard
recipe I use in most of my breakfast bakes and replaced all the flour with almond flour.

Others have not had the same issue, so there are various reasons why it didn't work out, but I can't pin - point if you followed the
recipe to a T. So, I am sorry, I don't have a specific answer for you, however I did update the instructions a little bit
more about beating the butter / shortening for 3 - 5 mins, make sure you don't overbeat the
batter, which is standard with most
cakes.
I can't claim to love The Making
more than The Eating, but I love making the
cake of this
recipe because of all the phases the
batter goes through.
