more than 30 % of all books sold, which means the majority of the market is in printed books.
The additional cost to future
sales from having driven
more people to the cheaper
ebook format would be almost impossible to calculate.
The former might lose
sales because libraries can lend
ebooks more efficiently (they need fewer websites than physical libraries) and they don't wear out or get lost.
I think if
ebooks published by the traditional publishers were priced
more realisticly,
sales would improve but as long as
ebooks are priced above what the print version goes for,
sales will remain upside down.
